Ejike Egbuagu

CEO/Co-Founder, Moneda Invest
Nigeria

Ejike Egbuagu, FICA brings over a decade-long corporate career spanning commercial banking, international trade, and continental deal structuring at high stakes. In a continent filled with financial gaps and structural inconsistencies, he leads a team of highly skilled trade finance operatives, passionate about unlocking growth in Africa through alternative capital - one sector at a time.

Established in the middle of the 2015 FX crisis with a vision to transform African resources into African wealth, Moneda Invest Africa has stayed true to this vision, creating alternative financing pools independent of local financial institutions. Over the last 6years, Moneda has provided capital and execution support in excess of $200million to African SMEs in the energy value chain, supporting and transforming them into formidable industry players.

For Moneda, it is more than profits, it is about the impact on the average African. While Moneda has catalyzed growth for many energy contractors, his belief in the African caused the founding of 1952Africa – a Moneda CSR initiative which invests in African creatives, enabling their talent to become a ladder out of economic challenges. The first residency program was completed in the September where 5 young African artists were mentored, trained, and given a global platform to exhibit their artworks at no cost. It was sold out within 48hours, with global acquisitions and media attention.

Ejike is a proud African and uses his businesses and passions to encourage other young Africans to find something to be proud about in their origins. In closing 2022, Moneda Invest Africa has been announced as a platinum sponsor of the African Energy Week in Cape Town, South Africa, as partner for African Content. He is playing his small part in African industrialization and welcomes all to join!
